Realizou-se um workshop sobre “What internists should know about the health effects of climate change?”, durante o Congresso Europeu de Medicina Interna, no dia 15 de março, em Atenas. Inscreveram-se 71 médicos oriundos de 21 países, incluindo Austrália, Taiwan, México, Estados Unidos, Islândia e outros. Foram quatro horas de profícua interação que seguramente contribuiu para aumentar a awareness dos internistas para este problema. A estrutura do Workshop foi:

Objectives: To characterize the health impact of climate change, ecosystem degradation, loss of biodiversity, overpopulation and depletion of natural resources;
To understand how health systems can increase their resilience to respond to the epidemiological transition induced by climate change and unexpected events;
To know the main actions to reduce the ecological footprint of the health sector
To identify the health co-benefits of climate change mitigation activities;
To discuss how internists can prepare and intervene in the health consequences of climate change.
